The Lendit Guarantee helps give lenders extra peace of mind when sharing their items through the platform.
It is designed to help protect eligible items if they are accidentally damaged or stolen during an approved Lendit loan.
What’s Covered?
If the Lendit Guarantee is added to a booking, eligible items can be covered for:
Accidental damage during the loan
Theft or non-return of an item
Up to £500 protection per item, per claim
Repair costs where possible
Replacement support if repair is not suitable
What’s Not Covered?
The Guarantee does not cover:
Normal wear and tear
Cosmetic marks or ageing
Pre-existing faults or damage
Misuse or irresponsible use
Personal injury or third-party damage
Loans arranged outside the Lendit platform
Late return fees or loss of earnings
How Does It Work?
The item must be listed and booked through Lendit
The borrower must complete verification before collection
The loan must take place through the platform
Any issues should be reported within 72 hours
Theft claims require a valid crime reference number
Once submitted, claims are reviewed by the Lendit team and most are resolved within 7 days.

The Lendit Guarantee is a discretionary platform protection product designed to support fair and honest lending within the community.
To help us assess claims quickly and accurately, we encourage lenders and borrowers to:
Use clear and accurate item descriptions
Upload recent photos and videos of items
Report issues promptly with supporting evidence
Keep all communication and bookings within the Lendit platform
Providing good evidence helps our team resolve claims faster and helps ensure fair outcomes for everyone involved.
Items not returned within 20 days may be treated as stolen.
Important Things to Know
The Lendit Guarantee is optional and lenders can choose whether to include it on their listings
Misuse, abuse, or fraudulent claims may result in suspension or permanent removal from the Lendit platform
The Guarantee is a platform protection product, not an insurance policy

Borrowers agree to use items responsibly, follow any instructions provided, and return items in the same condition they were collected.
